American Legion Post 43 - Hollywood, CA
An intense bar room drama set in a small mid-western city. An assorted group of bar regulars, representing four generations of Veterans, all dealing with past trauma come together to help a young man through the struggle of coming home. Lance Porter haunted by voices and visions has brought the war in Afghanistan home with him. Experiencing depression, sleeplessness, and hyper-vigilance, he is ruining his relationship, he cant decide whether or not to play music again, he searches for answers ending up at the bar. Can the cynical yet sympathetic older Veterans come together for the healing?
Directed by LA Theatre Veteran and Vietnam Veteran, John DiFusco, (Tracers.) The production is both site specific and immersive. The Historical Cabaret Room of Post 43 becomes the Legion Bar, The VA, and Lance Porters apartment.
The cast, crew, and design team include several US Military Veterans.
